The BSC at Ypres
Once more the Bembridge Sailing Club venture with me to the Western Front. 25 hardened campaigners under command of the Commodore spent 3 days in the Ypres Salient. There were relatives to whom we paid our respects, the great niece of Gilbert & Neville Talbot was with us (so Toch-H was a must) and the grandson of an RFC pilot who came down in flames north of St Jan regaled us beside the field with tales of derring-do.
Leffe and fine wine played their part and sunny weather allowed us our usual picnics. A joyous & emotional time was had by all.
