Formal burial for Welsh Guard killed during First World War.
This is the way to do a Battlefield Tour! On the first day of the Welsh Guards tour to the Somme & Loos, we re- buried the remains of one of our guardsman at the Guards Cemetery, Lesboeufs.
The remains had been discovered in 2013 on the edge of the village of Ginchy.
From the Regimental history, it would seem that he was in Prince of Wales Company and died on 10th September 1916 defending Ginchy prior to the Guards Division attacks on Lesboeufs.
